Chicago-based fine wine auctioneer Hart Davies Hart will hold the “largest wine auction of 2015” next month.

The leading wine auction house says the sale will feature more than 3,000 lots and is expected to bring in an “astonishing” US$6.8-10.2m

At the centre of the sale will be “one of the most comprehensive collections of fine Burgundy to ever appear at auction”, boasting 66 lots of Coche-Dury, 26 lots of Armand Rousseau and 37 lots of Domaine Dujac.

Other highlights will include 25 lots of Dom Perignon Oenotheque dating back to 1971, a wide selection of Chave Hermitage and an ex-cellar consignment from winemaker Paul Draper’s Ridge Monte Bello, 53 lots of which are expected to make around $92,520.

Other celebrated Californians will make an appearance, including 70 lots of Screaming Eagle and 83 lots of Sine Qua Non.

Finally, Bordeaux will be well represented by the usual contenders, including First Growths Petrus and Le Pin in a variety of vintages and formats.

The three-day sale will take place on 10-12 December at TRU restaurant on Chicago’s St Clair Street, as usual.
