Fine wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux achieved impressive results at Bonhams’ latest London sale, which made £1m in total.

The top lot was a case of 1988 Romanee-Conti, which sold for £111,625, while a further six bottles of 1999 Romanee-Conti sold for £65,800.

The sale was 85% sold, but lots of Bordeaux were completely sold out, with this section of the sale making £375,000 in total.

A case of 2010 Latour sold for £8,460, while three cases of 2009 Latour sold for £7,755 each.

Richard Harvey MW, Bonhams’ international director of wine, said: “This was a highly successful sale right across the board. Not only was the demand for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti particularly strong but the keen bidding on the exceptional private collection of En Primeur Bordeaux ensured a ‘white glove’ sell out for this section of the sale.”
