Chicago-based auction house Hart Davis Hart’s final sale at the TRU restaurant made over $9m, making it the company’s second largest sale ever.

The three-day sale, which opened the house’s autumn season, featured more than 3,000 lots of wine that made $9.6m from 1,200 bidders, with 60% of lots selling above their high estimates.

Highlights included a 12-bottle case of Armand Rousseau’s 2005 Chambertin, which sold for $45,410, and three-bottle cases of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s Romanée-Conti from 1991, 2007 and 2009, which sold for $41,825 each. Two cases of 1982 Lafite made $38,240 and $35,850, while a single bottle of Latour made $23,900.

The sale marked the end of HDH’s decade-long partnership with TRU. Sales will now be held at Spiaggia, with the first taking place from 2-3 November.
