Liv-ex 50 hits new five-year high

Last week was a particularly busy week on the Liv-ex exchange, and while the absolute value of Bordeaux trade remained flat and the region’s market share fell, activity in other areas crept ahead.

The Liv-ex 50, for example, reached a new five-year high, closing at 353.11 on Thursday. Lafite Rothschild 2010 was the top rise over the past week, climbing 3%. As we noted yesterday, many of the 2010s are finally pushing ahead in the secondary market.

Elsewhere, Champagne’s market share was lifted to 9.3% from 2.5% the previous week, thanks largely to Louis Roederer Cristal 2009 which received a score of 18.4/20 from Jancis Robinson, the highest out of eight different pairs of Champagnes from the Grand Marques.
