Sotheby’s is running a series of auctions this winter, called ‘A Life of Luxury’, with the first taking place in New York and boasting a stellar line-up of fine and rare wines.

Highlights of the forthcoming sale – held on 2 December – include a wide array of vintages and formats, such as imperials of 2005 Cheval Blanc and a Nebuchadnezzar of 2013 Yquem. ‘Mini-verticals’ of Haut-Brion Blanc, Krug Clos du Mesnil, Coche-Dury and Masseto are also on offer, as is a consignment of the largest selection of Sine Qua Non wines ever featured by the auction house.

A total of 1,036 lots will go on sale with a pre-sale estimate of US$1.9m-$2.7m, with one consignment being sold to benefit The Frederic Roberts Foundation. Offerings here are mainly claret-focused, featuring many wines dating back to 1982 from the likes of Mouton Rothschild and Palmer.
