Burgundy takes centre stage at forthcoming Sotheby’s sale

Sotheby’s first fine wine sale of the year will include over 500 lots from the biggest names in Burgundy, Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Italy and Spain, with a particular focus on magnums from Burgundy.

The New York sale, which takes place on 24 February, will feature magnums of Dujac, Mugnier and Roumier, plus what Sotheby’s calls an “incredible array” of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, plus Petrus from 1964 to 1999, and Vega Sicillia’s ‘Unico’ spanning 1942-1994.

Other highlights include magnums of Dom Perignon Oenotheque, Krug Collection 1964 and Krug Clos d’Ambonney 1996, while fans of Californian wines will no doubt be tempted by Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 1975, magnums of the 1977 and Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineuard Cabernet Sauvignon 1974. There will also be a selection of fine whiskies on offer.
