No Angludet 2017 due to frost damage

Chateau Angludet has revealed it won’t be making a 2017 wine due to frost damage that essentially wiped out its crops.

Speaking to the drinks business, Charles Sichel of negociant Maison Sichel, which owns the Margaux property, said: “In a normal harvest between the first and second wines we would get 1,600 hectolitres. We picked what few grapes there were and filled one vat of 150hl, and those were mostly second generation grapes, too, so not the best.”

The announcement means Chateau Angludet joins a number of other properties, including Climens and Fieuzal, that will not be making a 2017 wine because of inclement weather conditions. However, Sichel noted that Chateau Palmer, which his family part-owns, had been more fortunate and escaped “relatively unscathed”.
