In the annals of Burgundian whites, a particular standout graces our cellars: the 2010 Meursault Perrieres from Domaine Coche-Dury. Vintage Vibrance: A Year of Elegance

The 2010 vintage in Burgundy was a pragmatic viticulturist’s aspiration—marked by propitious conditions that swerved at just the right times towards an admirable culmination. The lustrous summer's days followed by brisk evenings endowed the grapes from Meursault Perrieres with an exemplary balance of fruit ripeness and acid retention. Domaine Coche-Dury's fastidious vineyard stewardship during this period is vividly exemplified in their 2010 offering.

An Investment Worth Its Terroir

The 2010 Meursault Perrieres proffers an olfactory bouquet of riveting complexity: toasted hazelnuts interlace with hints of crushed limestone and citrus zest. Upon tasting, the supple texture unfolds gracefully on the palate, evincing notes of fresh stone fruits and white flowers underpinned by a linear mineral seam unique to this vaunted terroir.

Befitting fine wine investors seeking both opulence and longevity, this vintage promises further evolution, yet already exhibits the poignant elegance conducive to a regal drinking window. The balance struck by this vintage between concentration and vibrancy positions it as a splendid addition to any curated collection.

In the sphere of Meursault Perrieres, the 2010 from Domaine Coche-Dury stands out as a testament to an advantageous year's gift to the oenophile. To sip this nectar is to partake in an experience that is truly emblematic of its origin—a quintessential representation of both time and place.

The 2010 Meursault Perrieres is so good that it seems to momentarily stop time. The bouquet is astonishing: laden with limestone scents, white peach, citrus peel and just a hint of truffle that all exhibit razor-sharp delineation. The palate is vibrant and quintessential Perrieres, leaning as it does towards Puligny in style. There is a light lick of wild honey towards the finish that lingers seductively in the mouth and then a deliriously fine honeycomb note on the aftertaste. How this can be a Premier Cru rather than Grand Cru, God only knows. Tasted March 2013.
