Chateau Figeac Fine Wine Tasting with Barclays
Château Figeac, Premier Grand Cru Classé, is one of the leading Saint-Émilion estates and its wine, with its high Cabernet content, has often been described as the most Médoc-like in St-Emilion. It is also the largest estate in Saint-Émilion, with 40 hectares (99 acres) of vineyards. Due to its soil, which is dominated by gravel, it is planted in grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Cabernet Franc (35%), and Merlot (30%) and Figeac therefore bears a certain semblance to the wines of Médoc and Graves despite being situated on Bordeaux's right bank. Interestingly former owner Thierry Manoncourt is credited with creating the concept of the ‘Second Wine’, having introduced La Grange Neuve de Figeac (now Petit Figeac) in 1945.
Arrive for a champagne reception on the fifth-floor terrace of the Clockwork Building in west London.
Guests head to the tasting area where Cécile Loqmane, Marketing & Communication Manager of Château Figeac will guide you through five vintages from the estate, each paired with carefully chosen canapés.
Guests are welcome to stay longer to try more of Cult Wines’ selection before departing at their leisure.
