Lafleur 2017 released
Lafleur 2017 has been released and is being offered by merchants at £5,340 per 12×75. This represents a modest increase of 3.5% on last year’s opening price (£5,160) and sets it apart from the majority of other releases made thus far, which have largely been down on 2016 price points.
Voted fifth favourite wine of the vintage by Liv-ex members, Lafleur has been well-received by critics. Neal Martin called it “an awesome 2017” and awarded it 95-97 points. Antonio Galloni scored it 95-98 points, naming it “without question one of the wines of the vintage on the Right Bank”. Lisa Perotti-Brown, meanwhile, awarded it 97-100 points.
Despite the marginal price increase, the wine has been released at a slight discount to the price anticipated by Liv-ex’s fair value methodology. Still, those looking for further value might consider the 2008, which has the same scores, an additional decade in bottle and is available at a 17.6% discount to today’s release.
