The Chablis harvest of 2018 is the best in 20 years, according to Louis Moreau, president of the Chablis Commission.

Thanks to the strong vineyard condition, grape maturity and overall juice quality, this year’s harvest was the best since 1998, despite some uncertainty following the drought in summer and two difficult previous years.

Speaking to Harpers, he said the vintage will “be a full round fruit-orientated vintage with a hint of minerality”, and that the strong harvest is unlikely to have any impact on pricing. “It will only bring the bulk prices back down to a more reasonable level,” he said.
