The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château, which came from vat, has a broad, generous, wild strawberry and cranberry-scented bouquet with beautifully integrated oak, very sensual in style and if anything, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, maybe not quite as harmonious as the Colombière and just pulling up a little short on the finish at the moment. That said, I am sure that it will develop more substance once in bottle.
