Vintage distinction - a remarkable wine investment opportunity

The exceptional nature of the 2013 vintage has made it a point of interest for discerning wine investors. It was a year marked by a cooler and wetter spring followed by a warm and dry summer, dotting the vineyard’s timeline with tranquil days and cold nights, fortifying these fine wines from Italy with nuanced complexity.

The resulting yield was beautifully harmonious – maintaining the intoxicating essence of Sangiovese, elevated by deft touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

Rarity in balance

The 2013 Tignanello is a judicious dance of power and finesse, presenting an opulent dark fruit profile, melded with spicy notes and an earthy undertone reflecting its Tuscan provenance. The integrated tannins work in concert with suitable acidity, promising rewarding cellaring potential.

Weather conditions for this particular vintage have shaped its distinctive attributes - imparting elegance and depth that enable this expertly crafted blend from Antinori to stand proud alongside it's renowned counterparts.

The allure of Tignanello 2013

The true genius behind the 2013 Tignanello extends beyond its enticing bouquet or riveting palate, but lies in its capacity for longevity that is truly noteworthy for serious collectors and investors alike. While it already elicits enthusiastic acclaims, its potential to evolve over time is one of its most compelling aspects.

In conclusion, the 2013 Tignanello’s equilibrium between power and elegance is a testament to Antinori's dedication to expressing Tuscan terroir. It stands as a noteworthy investment and a distinguished addition to any cellaring portfolio.

Scores and tasting notes

The 2013 Tignanello represents the beginning of a new chapter for Italy's ultimate game-changer wine. The blend remains 80% Sangiovese with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc but Renzo Cotarella tells me "stylistically-speaking, this is what we wanted to achieve." The winemaking formula remains the same, but one of the major differences and benefits to this wine is vineyard age. The celebrated Tignanello single vineyard is now reaching 15 years old. In other words, it is in its production prime. This is a harmonious and beautifully integrated wine that reveals black fruit and baking spice. I'm told the 2014 Tignanello will have a greater percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2015 vintage will have more Sangiovese.
