A Remarkable Expression of Memorable Vintage: The 2015 Ermitage l'Ermite Blanc from Chapoutier, Rhone
The vintage narrative of 2015 was largely seen as exceptional in many fine wine producing regions and none more so than the historic Rhône Valley. Emerging as an emblem of this excellent year is the 2015 Ermitage l’Ermite Blanc from the acclaimed house of Chapoutier, a stunningly curated display of Rhone's prestigious terroir.
2015, A Year Etched Forever In Viticulture History
The Rhône region, renowned for its full-bodied yet harmonious wines, witnessed perfect climatic conditions during 2015. A warm spring followed by a scorching summer resulted in grapes ripening to perfection with an even balance of sugars and acids. This synchronised dance between nature and grower is imprinted deeply within the complexity of the l’Ermite Blanc '15.
A Deftly Crafted Wine for Astute Investors
With minimal intervention philosophy practiced by producer Chapoutier, the 2015 Ermitage l’Ermite Blanc allowed nature to dictate the rhythmic patterns. This organic approach has resulted in a wine vibrating with minerality, delineating a notable distinction from its preceding vintages with its layers of intensity. Already showing signs of maturity, it offers an opportunity for discerning investors to purchase this Gem in its evolutionary stage.
Vintage Meets Elegance: The Taste Profile That Penetrates Through Time
The taste notes for this wine embody a sublime fusion of depth and elegance. Fleshy yet controlled, expressed through a vibrant array of apricot, white peach, overlaid with nuances of toasted almond and acacia honey. All these flavors blend harmoniously with a striking mineral undercurrent, reflecting the rich granitic slopes of Hermitage, and the year's hot, dry summer climate.
From its lingering palate to the shroud of elegant aging potential, this vintage holds promise for significant returns on investment. Rated highly within the critics' circles, the 2015 Ermitage l'Ermite Blanc is not simply a benchmark for outstanding Rhône whites, but an auspicious investment opportunity to seize.
The 2015 Ermitage l'Ermite Blanc from Chapoutier embodies the essence of Rhone in an unforgettable vintage year, encapsulating an enticing brew of stalled time, wine expertise, and smart investment.

One of the most singular wines I’m able to taste each year is unquestionably the l’Ermite Blanc from Chapoutier and it certainly lives up to the billing in 2015. Offering what I can only describe as a liquid rock (a liqueur of rocks?) character intermixed with notes of buttered citrus, pineapple, smoked meats, charcoal and toast, the 2015 Ermitage l’Ermite is full-bodied, decadent and locked and loaded on the palate. It needs 2-3 years of cellaring and I suspect will keep for half a century
