An Investment Worthy of Note: The Dynamic 2016 Vintage

This remarkable vintage mirrors the storied history of the storied parcel within Vosne-Romanée, delivering a wine with a composition that demands contemplation—the hallmark of an advantageous wine investment. A careful nose will uncover layered aromas of dark cherries and ripe strawberries, entwined with subtle hints of violets and the domaine's signature spice undertone.

The palate tells a similar story—rich yet not overly so—with a tension between fruit purity and structural precision that continues through an enduring finish. Amid its peers, it may be suggested that the 2016 Romanée St Vivant holds a unique position; its charms are not easily forgotten, giving it tremendous cache amongst collectors and connoisseurs alike who seek to diversify their portfolios with wines that narrate the tale of their vintage so eloquently.

In summation, the investment virtues of this velvety nectar lay not only in its scarcity but also in its articulate reflection of a challenging year transformed into a symphony of taste. Those who embrace the nuanced complexities of Burgundy will appreciate investing in the 2016 Romanée St Vivant from Domaine Dujac—a bottle replete with potential both on the palate and in providence.

The 2016 Romanée Saint Vivant Grand Cru has a sensual, quixotic bouquet with macerated small red cherries, blueberry, a light marine influence developing in the glass. This offers haunting purity, a real femme fatale. It’s actually more like a Richebourg in style as it broadens and deeps with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity, not quite as sensual as the Bonnes-Mares with a tender, lightly spiced finish. This is just ridden with class.
