Scores and tasting notes
Tasted at the 1999 horizontal at Bordeaux Index. The Clos Fourtet has a similar colour to the Troplong Mondot and likewise, it displays good clarity on the nose: lifted and vivacious with black cherries, raspberry leaf and a touch of shellfish. It has an appealing harmony and focus. The palate is clean and fresh with fleshy mouthfeel, rounded tannins but not silky
Neal Martin - Wine Journal Jul 2009
Although I had higher hopes for this wine from cask, it has turned out to be an excellent St.-Emilion offering sweet black cherry, cola, smoke, plum, and mulberry characteristics. The wine is medium-bodied, plump, and fat, with low acidity and an up-front, flattering style. It should drink well for 10-12 years.
