2014 Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Leroy, Burgundy, France
The serene tapestry of the 2014 vintage in Burgundy carries a narrative of deft tension between climatic strife and winemaking prowess. The yield from the 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Leroy narrates such a story, emerging exquisitely from a season marked by meteorological caprices.
Artful Expression of a Challenging Vintage
In 2014, Burgundian vignerons faced nature's trials with a stoic resolve to produce wines of profound caliber. Domaine Leroy, standing tall amongst the echelons of fine wine crafters, articulated this vintage's distinctive tale through vines anchored deep in the hallowed Chambertin terroir.
As with its predecessors, the 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru reveals the subtle intricacies wrought by this singular year—a canvas daubed with the lighter footprints of red fruits rather than the deeper impressions often imparted by more temperate seasons. An earthy whisper beneath the delicate cherry and raspberry expressions bears witness to an early harvest forged under September's temperamental skies.
A Confluence of Investment & Indulgence
The investment acumen surrounding select vintages cannot overshadow the sensory pilgrimage one experiences with a wine of this stature. Delightfully approachable now, yet emboldened with an undercurrent of fine tannins and structured acidity indicative of admirable cellaring potential, the 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Leroy indeed encapsulates a formidable opportunity for connoisseurs and investors alike.
This particular offering from Domaine Leroy lies in that discerning intersection of finesse and fortitude—a beacon for collectors seeking wines that resonate with both palate and portfolio. The provenance and prestige of Domaine Leroy inject a profound level of confidence in its future trajectory within the investment landscape.
The 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru represents a parcel of vinous history that not only narrates its birth year with clarity but promises to recount the tale for decades hence. An astute acquisition for any investor with an appreciation for wines that whisper tales of their vintages as they unfold gracefully with time.

The 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru has a backward nose, much more so than the Latricières at the moment, though one can tell that is very well defined and full of tension. The palate is structured right from the entry, arching tannins here, beautifully focused with perfect acidity, gently flowing towards a very poised and tender finish that has so much tension. This is a regal Chambertin.
