The 1999 vintage emerged as one of precision and grace, with Domaine Leroy harnessing the virtues of its esteemed terroir. The Symphony of 1999: A Melodic Vintage Unfolds

Tasting the 1999 Romanee-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is akin to attending a symphony where each note is articulated with supreme fidelity. Swirling its deep garnet allure in the glass reveals a crescendo of earthy truffle, ripe cherry, and an ethereal layering of violet petals. There's an elusive spiciness intertwined with the matured tannins—an homage, perhaps, to an autumnal harvest under Burgundy’s brooding skies.

The palate mirrors this complexity; nuances are captured in a bottle where they unravel steadily—decantation is the key. With oxygen's caress, layers are unfurled, providing an opulent yet poised mouthfeel that culminates in a finish as enduring as Domaine Leroy's legacy itself.

The consummate collectors' piece, this wine not merely sits at the apex of fine wine investment but embodies the artful sophistication demanded by those who seek to weave exclusivity with provident acumen.

This was the best bottle that I've encountered of Leroy's 1999 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, unfurling in the glass with a deep and complex bouquet of dark berry fruit, cassis, smoked meats, rose petals, candied peel and sweet spices. Full-bodied, velvety and immensely concentrated, it's seamless and multidimensional, built around an elegantly muscular chassis of velvety tannin and a lively spine of acidity, concluding with a sapid and expansive finish.
