Le Petit Mouton 2002
Tasting Notes Le Petit Mouton 2002
Tasted blind at Farr's 2002 Bordeaux tasting. An unexpected surprise. A fragrant, light, wild strawberry, raspberry and rose petal nose wafts from the glass all with admirable definition. The medium-bodied palate displays a sweet entry, rounded and fleshy red fruits with agreeable poise and an elegant, spicy finish. I was not the only one surprised that this was Le Petit Mouton, especially considering how coarse it tasted out of barrel! Very fine. Tasted October 2009.
An excellent second wine, the 2005 Le Petit Mouton exhibits soft, lush, subtle herb-infused black currant fruit along with notions of licorice, smoke, and burning embers. Enjoy this well-made effort over the next 7-8 years.
