Bahans Haut Brion 2001
Tasting Notes Bahans Haut Brion 2001
Nothing too exciting on the nose: light blackcurrant leaf, a touch of wild hedgerow but develops quite nicely in the glass. Medium-bodied, good acidity, light simple and refreshing but a little simple on the finish. A correctly made, enjoyable if not intellectual wine. Tasted October 2007.
Always one of Bordeaux's finest second wines, the 2001 Bahans-Haut-Brion exhibits a dark plum/ruby color as well as a sweet nose of cedar, earth, and red and black currants. Medium-bodied, with a supple texture, fine purity, and admirable length, it will drink well for 5-8 years.
