2014 Redigaffi from Tua Rita, Italy

Unveiling the proletarian passion of Italy’s wine tale, the 2014 Redigaffi from Tua Rita attests to the sheer dedication and craft emanating from this celebrated vineyard. One can practically taste the wisdom of 40 years of fine wine production in each sip.

A masterstroke in merlot

The 2014 Redigaffi is viewed by many as a masterful expression of Merlot. Despite a somewhat challenging year climatically, the genius of Tua Rita shone through, creating a wine that screams confident expertise. The year's early plot twist was a cool, wet spring, which morphed into a summer notable for its intense heat and scant rainfall, trails that encouraged the vines to dig deep into the subsoil for moisture and nutrients. This tension manifested in a vintage blessed with unexpected intensity and aromatic complexity.

A palette of indulgence

This fine wine boasts an alluring ruby hue preparing you for an intoxicating nose flush with ripe blackberries, sweet cherries wrapped in a symphony of earthy undertones and plush tannins. On the palate, it struts an elegant balance between its generous fruit exposition and assertive tannin structure, revealing layers of complexity that demand contemplation. Coupled with an enduring finish, this beautifully choreographed dance ensures that 2014 Redigaffi stands amongst Italy's finest wines.

A vintage to invest in

The audacious portrayal of one of the most diverse wine regions in the world makes the 2014 vintage an unequivocal investment piece. It is evident that every drop of this red treasure captures the potent singularity of its origin- an exemplar case of 'terroir'. The resulting bottle provides both a hedonistic journey for the palate and a promising investment opportunity for the astute collector, infusing the cellar with enviable depth and gravity.

2014 Redigaffi - an ode to Italian winemaking

In conclusion, the 2014 Redigaffi from Tua Rita is nothing less than a paean to patient, fastidious viticulture in Italy's exalted terroirs. As one of 2014's most noteworthy releases, it stands poised to offer handsome value appreciation to those who recognise its remarkable potential. Simultaneously, it offers an untamed dance on the taste buds that harks back to Tua Rita's fiercely respected heritage. This wine is a vibrant testament to what can be achieved when nature's unpredictability is deftly navigated by seasoned artisans.

Here's a wine that defeats the odds of the difficult vintage with a firm sense of style and confidence. The 2014 Redigaffi is Merlot that benefits from the sea breezes and bright sunshine of Coastal Tuscany to downplay the soggy and cool summer growing season. The fruit tastes ripe and plump with black cherry and red currant backed by heavier tones of spice, leather and tobacco. That the wine is made with care and the upmost attention to detail is evident (one-third of production was lost due to severe fruit selection). Only 8,500 bottles were made. You can taste this in the quality of the wood and the fine tannic management. However, despite all the hard work that has very evidently gone into creating this edition of Redigaffi, this vintage fails to reach the soaring heights of its predecessors—wines that can hover near the 100-point mark in the best vintages.
