2009 La Turque - Cote Brune

By Guigal

2009 La Turque - Cote Brune from Guigal, Rhone

This 2009 La Turque - Cote Brune from Guigal unfolds like a tightly wound symphony, composing a story of the supreme vintage that was 2009. Unlike each characteristic note of a terroir well-crafted by Guigal, this specific year presents us with a crescendo of flavours that crescendos to a fine climax.

The Aroma of an Investment Opportunity

For the discerning investor, fragrant bouquets can often portend profitable futures, and the 2009 La Turque - Cote Brune is an orchestral display of rich raspberries and blackcurrants, underscored with notes of oriental spices and ebony. Each waft unveils another note in its elegant composition: from light floral symphonies to deep, bassy undercurrents of chocolate and liquorice.

It is wines such as this that present investment opportunities poised on the brink of maturity — developed enough to convey depth and complexity, yet fresh enough to promise potential for longevity and appreciation.

Interior Excellence Reflects Externally

The lens of 2009 casts an intriguing light on the excellence synonymous with Guigal. The climatic conditions worked in its favour; a warm year with evenly distributed rainfall leading to optimal ripening coupled with excellent health preservation — painting not just a happy medium, but an ideality.

The resultant Rhône Red Wine is a seductive symphony, confident in its nobility, each nuance wrapped neatly within its Syrah personality — hinting at the perfection rarely achieved by even fine wine producers.

Unforgettable Performance - Encore un Verre!

In conclusion, the 2009 La Turque - Cote Brune by Guigal is a composition well worthy of encores, endowed with the concentration and structure conducive to a fine investment. To appreciate this wine is to hear the operetta of the Rhone in 2009, harmonising earthy undertones, a mode of vibrant fruit melodies, and a finish that is as enduring as the applause after a standing ovation.

An opulent vintage poised at the edge of its prime performance, this is one of Guigal's finest demonstrations — promising future engagements rich in both returns and delightful reconsiderations.

Both the 2010 and the 2009 continue to blow me away every time I taste them, and to me, these represent the pinnacle of Cote Rotie—albeit in very different styles. Every bit as good as the 2010, the 2009 Cote Rotie la Turque is a flamboyant and sexy Cote Rotie that’s loaded with notions of smoked meats, blackberries, blackcurrants, beef blood and espresso roast. Thick, unctuous, hugely concentrated and long, it’s a heavenly wine I guarantee will put a smile on your face anytime over the coming 2-3 decades.
