2019 Chateau Gazin from Chateau Gazin, Pomerol, Bordeaux, France

The revered terroir of Pomerol conjures a vivid tapestry of vinous artistry with every vintage. And amidst this rich patchwork, the 2019 Chateau Gazin from Chateau Gazin stands proudly, signalling a year of particular splendour and poise. An earnest embodiment of its celebrated lineage, this vintage is a mélange of opulence underscored by meticulous crafting.

A Vintage Defined by Dichotomy

When we recall the climatic narrative that shaped Bordeaux in 2019, we are reminded of a year bifurcated by extremes. A mild winter gave way to a summer both balmy and brooding, cresting finally into an idyllic harvest period. The result at Chateau Gazin? A wine that belies the drama of its birth with harmonious balance.

An intimate familiarity with the nuances of Pomerol's distinct clay and gravel soils empowers Chateau Gazin to distil the climatic capriciousness into bottles redolent with dark fruit cardinality and a tannic structure that is both assertive and finely woven. As investors, seeking out vintages where depth intertwines with elegance should be paramount; 2019 is undeniably one such instance.

A Symphony of Sensory Delights

A first pour unveils a complex bouquet; plums and blackberries dance around a core of cassis, while hints of truffle and delicate violets lay like precious gems in wait. On the palate, notes of chocolate and leather perform eloquently against a backdrop of integrated oak. An investment in this wine is not only a testament to one's acumen but also a hedge against the ennui of lesser vintages.

In summation, the 2019 Chateau Gazin from Chateau Gazin reverberates as a symphonic expression from Pomerol. It presents as an astute addition to any investment portfolio, demonstrating once more how pivotal years carve out their niches in oenological history. Here is a vintage that truly harnesses the alchemy between climate and craft, surely destined to grace the cellar of the sagacious collector.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Gazin sashays out of the glass with pretty black cherries, kirsch and raspberry pie scents followed by hints of wilted roses, aniseed and damp soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely restraint with loads of earth and mineral nuances taking center stage, framed by rounded tannins and soft acidity, finishing long and savory.
