2013 Chateauneuf Du Pape Hommage J Perrin from Chateau de Beaucastel - A Rhone Legend

One of Rhone's most esteemed vineyards, Chateau de Beaucastel, graciously presented the world with the remarkable 2013 Chateauneuf Du Pape Hommage J Perrin, a distinguished testament to the exceptional quality of soils and meticulous craftsmanship imbued in every bottle.

Elegance combined with a unique vintage snapshot

The 2013 vintage of the Hommage J Perrin permitted a glimpse into Rhone's cooler-than-average year. This resulted in an elegant wine displaying a beautiful restraint, yet with a neoteric complexity not typically associated with submissive vintages. Despite the chilly start to the growing season, the valorous vines fought through, unlocking unparalleled qualities in grapes, which are seductively echoed in this precious libation.

Ambrosial notes of blackberries, and ripe figs accentuated by subtle undertones of garrigue herbs - thyme principally - are wrapped in a sheath of refined tannins. It cleverly offsets its fruit-forward profile with an enviably textured, earthy finish, reminding us of the diverse terroirs hailing from this esteemed Rhone producer.

Fruit of Chateau de Beaucastel's commitment to perfection

Chateau de Beaucastel is undoubtedly a benchmark for stellar wines from Rhone, with their Chateauneuf Du Pape housing myriad old vine varietals. Their pursuit of perfection transcends their passion for viticulture into an investment-grade philosophy producing sizable returns for wine portfolios.

The 2013 Hommage J Perrin serves as an investment gem representing an excellent option for wine investors and connoisseurs. Its balance of power, purity, and grace effortlessly intersects with its swallow-tailed tannins and punctilious structure, promising an exciting future.

The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is a beast of a wine that’s shed most of the baby fat it showed from barrel. A normal blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, and the rest Syrah and Counoise, this tiny production release has incredible minerality to go with searing black and blue fruits, forest floor, smoked earth and leather. Full-bodied, inky, concentrated and backwards with a serious kick of tannin, it will need a decade of cellaring to be approachable. I suspect it will have 2-3 decades of longevity.
