The much-anticipated 2015 vintage of Opus One has been released, priced at €208 per bottle ex-negociant, up 9.4% on the 2014 release (€190).

Antonio Galloni gave the wine 96+ points, noting that “the 2015 captures all the essence of the vintage while retaining a good bit of aromatic freshness”. James Suckling scored it 98 points, describing it as “juicy and so gorgeous”, adding that he preferred it to the 2014.

Allocations are down 20% on last year, due to reduced production, but the release is being offered below all other recent vintages currently available on the market. As such, Liv-ex notes, “it may therefore represent an exciting opportunity for buyers”.
