In July 2019 Cult Wines launched its Shanghai office with the aim to provide tasting services, collection advice and wine education to the rapidly growing Chinese market.
Headquartered in London, the Shanghai office is Cult Wines’ third overseas office. The other two offices are in Hong Kong and Singapore.

This interest later compelled him to earn a BA in China Studies. During his college studies he also developed a passion for wine and worked part-time as a sommelier. In 1999 Dan moved to Beijing to work at a famous environmental NGO during the day and as China’s first sommelier in the evening. Since 2003 Dan has worked as Area Director for two of China’s largest wine importer/distributors. During this time he also completed market research projects for several organizations and government bodies, including Wine Intelligence and ICEX. Dan holds advanced certifications from WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, and the Society of Wine Educators.
Dan holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from NHH Norwegian School of Economics, which was ranked 5th in the world in economics by The Financial Times. Dan was the first student in university history to complete all coursework within one year, and to have his Masters’ thesis published by the Norwegian government. He graduated within the top 10% of his class.
Dan truly enjoys deep diving into our analytical research, a passion only equalled by his interest in wine. Focused on health and well-being, he enjoys morning yoga and meditation.
