Tasting Notes Beychevelle 1997
Medium ruby core. The nose is closed and woody, an distinct absence of fruit concentration. A little out of balance and one-dimensional. Blackberry finish. Below average. Tasted November 1999 with similar notes.
Sinewy and light to medium-bodied, with firm tannin as well as a soft, evolved style, this diluted effort is pleasant, but lacking body, concentration, and length. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
